Central Catholic High School will present its annual fall play Thursday, November 1 and Saturday and Sunday, November 3 and 4 in the school’s front gymnasium. This year’s show is Arthur Miller’s The Crucible. Show times are Thursday at 8:00 p.m., Saturday at 3:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m., and Sunday at 3:00 p.m. All tickets are $10 at the door, and there will be a $2 discount for students for the Thursday evening performance.
Arthur Miller wrote The Crucible in response to the Red Scare of the 1950s when he was accused of being a Communist. The play is about the witch scare of Salem in 1692 and the trials that followed, which resulted in the deaths of many innocent people. The Crucible reflects the mentality of the Red Scare in that the accusations of a few greatly affect the lives of many.
The play is directed by Central Catholic drama teacher, Mr. Mike Heinze. Principal cast members include Corryn Della Flora, Eileen Iannone, Na’Kayla James, Kevin Krause, Alex McCartney, Eric Ragan, Zach Schulz, and Hadley Williams.
