Library to Show the Film Glory

The Toledo-Lucas County Public Library will observe and celebrate the 150th anniversary of the Emancipation Proclamation on Saturday, January 5, 2013 with a FREE and open to the public showing of the movie Glory.

First released in 1989, the film stars actors Matthew Broderick, Denzel Washington, Cary Elwes and Morgan Freeman. Glory highlights the role of the 54th Massachusetts Volunteer Infantry which was the first black regiment in the Civil War.

The showing is scheduled to begin at 2 p.m. in the McMaster Center of Main Library, 325 Michigan St. The movie is rated R for violence and language; viewer discretion is advised. Free parking passes for attendees.
