FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Toledo, OH- Beloved Toledo vocalist Mary Ann Russo relished the intimate setting of the club or cabaret. The essence of jazz is captured there- where musicians connect through improvisation. This year, Toledo School for the Arts and the Russo Scholarship Committee have added an additional Songs for Our Sister concert to the schedule, now partnering with the Toledo Club to emulate the more intimate lounge feel so enjoyed by Mary Ann.

The added event will take place Sunday, February 24th, at 4:00pm. Concert-only tickets are $20 each, though you are encouraged to stay for dinner. RSVP to 419.246.8732×217 for the dinner and show by noon on Wednesday (2/20) and get both for just $45.

The jazz combo is composed of two TSA graduates already being recognized as top-shelf musicians, Josh Silver and Nelson Overton, the incomparable Jeff Halsey- a BGSU professor and TSA parent, and another BGSU staffer- guitarist extraordinaire Chris Buzzelli. Featured singers include Atla DeChamplain, Ellie Martin, Joel Zmuda, Kim Buehler, Nancy Hattner, Ramona Collins and Sheila Fleming. As always, Toledo School for the Arts will highlight their own student vocalists and musicians.

“This event is a great chance for the many folks who missed the big September concert to get in on the action. The quantity and quality of entertainers make any SFOS concert, including this one, pretty much unparalleled. And the ticket price is incredibly reasonable! The singers do it gratis for the cause: nurturing aspiring young jazz singers and musicians, through lessons, scholarship and other training,” explained John Blaufuss, chairman of the event.
