Library observes Passport Day in the USA 2013!

The Toledo-Lucas County Public Library is proud to observe Passport Day in the USA 2013 from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Saturday, March 9 at Main Library, 325 Michigan St. FREE parking is available for the day and all customers receiving passport services will receive a travel bookmark in observance of this celebration.

The United States Department of State first observed Passport Day in the USA in 2009. The mission is to reach out to United States citizens across the country with an annual, nationally coordinated event that provides convenient and valuable passport services to citizens.

The Toledo-Lucas County Public Library is an official passport-application acceptance agency at Main Library, 325 Michigan St.

Applications are accepted up to one hour before library closing time, now seven days a week due to the addition of Sunday hours at the Main Library. Passport services are available at Main Library seven days a week, and is the only passport acceptance agency in the region available on Sundays.

“We are pleased to observe and celebrate Passport Day in the USA 2013,” said Cathy Bartel, Library Circulation Manager. “We encourage our customers to obtain or renew their passports on this special observance. Our passport service also complements other travel resources the library offers.”

Applications will be accepted up to one hour before library closing time, Monday through Sunday. Along with the federal passport fee, a $25 processing fee will be assessed. Passport photo service will be available for $5.

Applicants should check the travel.state.gov website or call 1-877-487-2778 to confirm the documents needed for their applications.
