Posted May 22nd, 2013 by Rhonda Sewell  Category: Community Interest

Have you ever seen or heard what you thought was a fighter plane overhead? You probably were not imagining things – it may have been an F-16 from the 180th Fighter Wing of the Ohio Air National Guard. F-16 pilots located at Toledo Express Airport regularly conduct training flights as a part of their overall readiness for America’s homeland security and defense.

The Toledo-Lucas County Public Library is providing an opportunity for the entire family to learn more about the 180th Fighter Wing at a variety of programs presented at various branch locations (see schedule below). Topics will include the pilots, their missions, recent accomplishments, local alternative energy operations, and more about the Fighter Wings’ mission to provide combat-ready Airmen/women for federal, state and community missions. No registration is required.

All programs are scheduled from 7-8 p.m.:

· Tuesday, June 11 – Reynolds Corners Branch Library, 4833 Dorr St.
· Tuesday, June 25 – Sanger Branch Library, 3030 W. Central Ave.
· Monday, July 22 – Oregon Branch Library, 3340 Dustin Rd., Oregon, OH
