Saturday, August 24, 2012 from 6:00-midnight at Centennial Terrace in Sylvania, The Gretchen Gotthart SKeldon Fund will host FASHIONABLY LATEā€¦. A night of live bands, drinks, friends, dancing and FUN! Tickets are $20 in advance and $25 at the door. They can be purchased at gretchenfund.com or by calling 419-509-9885.

The Gretchen Gotthart Skeldon Fund raises money with this event to fulfill its established mission. The mission of the Fund is to bring awareness and support to issues of breast cancer and children with disabilities. We have donated to NW Ohio Susan G. Komen to create and support the Patient Assistance Fund. We have created the Gretchen Gotthart Skeldon Wish at Make -A-Wish, which fully funds a wish each year. We sponsored the Adaptive Dance Program at The Toledo Ballet. The dance program develops skills in children and young adults with Down Syndrome. In addition, we sponsor the music room at Sunshine, Inc. , complete with an instructor and adapted musical instruments.

Gretchen Skeldon was an active member of Toledo community. A graduate of Central Catholic High School and the University of Toledo, she worked to become National Sales Manager for Libbey Glass. She and her husband and daughter lived in West Toledo. In 2010, Gretchen lost a long battle with breast cancer. Her family and friends came together to create this Fund to contine her work in the community.

In the nearly four years since its founding, the Gretchen Gotthart Skeldon Fund has raised close to $100,000. The Fund committee is made up entirely of volunteers. All of the monies are held with The Toledo Community Foundation.
