The presents are wrapped and the house is decorated, but one more tradition awaits: Christmas Eve Day at your Toledo Zoo. In appreciation for Lucas County voters’ levy support, Lucas County residents receive free Zoo admission Zoo on Tuesday, December 24. ID showing proof of residency is required; on December 24, the Zoo is open from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

At the Zoo, you’ll see amazing animals, enjoy the Zoo’s famous hot chocolate and maybe even finish up that last-minute shopping. Christmas Eve at the Zoo is a great way to wind down from the hectic holiday rush (please note that the Lights Before Christmas, presented by KeyBank, is closed on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day).

The Zoo is Santa’s headquarters through Monday, December 23, but even after Santa returns to the North Pole, the Lights shine through December 31. When you visit, check out the new outdoor ice rink and the walk-in snow globe (back by popular demand), sponsored by Taylor Automotive Family.

Then – on Tuesday, December 31 — ring in 2014 at Noon Year’s Eve sponsored by Meijer, the Zoo’s family-friendly celebration, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. For a full schedule of Toledo Zoo events, visit the Zoo’s website at
