The Toledo Repertoire Theatre will present Tennessee Williams’ classic drama “The Glass Menagerie,” April 4-6 and 10-13 on the 10th Street stage. Directed by Jeffrey J. Albright, this memory play depicts the story of Amanda Wingfield – a remnant of a Southern Belle, now living in poverty with her son, Tom, and her disabled daughter, Laura – who longs to provide her children a life with purpose and direction. Tom escapes to alcohol and the movies, while Amanda’s anxiety for her daughter’s marriage prospects drives Laura further into isolation from the outside world. A dinner guest of Tom’s is maneuvered as a possible suitor for Laura, but the worlds of illusion that both mother and daughter have created soon crash around them. The cast includes Kate Abu-Absi as Amanda; James MacFarlane as Tom; Elizabeth Cottle as Laura, and Tanner DuVall as the gentleman caller, Jim O’Conner. Thursday, Friday and Saturday performances are at 8 p.m., Sundays at 2:30 p.m. To purchase tickets, please visit or call 419-243-9277.
