The University of Toledo Department of Theatre & Film announces auditions for its upcoming fall plays – THE ADDING MACHINE by Elmer Rice and MISS JULIE by August Strindberg. Auditions will be held in the UT Center for Performing Arts, Thursday and Friday, August 28-29 from 6-10 p.m. Those interested must sign up for a time slot in advance by visiting the CPA or by calling the department office at 419-530-2202.

Auditions to our plays are open to everyone! You do not need to be a UT student to get a part. Also, we follow a casting policy that is color-blind and gender-neutral. Practice scripts are available through the department office. Preparation information is available online at

The University will also present a free audition workshop, presented by Cornel Gabara, head of acting at UT. It’s a great way for those interested in auditioning to get some great advice on everything from preparing a monologue, choosing material to use in the audition, how to prepare for different kinds of auditions and much more. No RSVP is required to attend the workshop.
