Mario Kart 8 Tournament held in historic 1921 theatre

The Ohio Theatre and Event Center, a historic 1921-built movie house in north Toledo, is proud to present the area’s first-ever Mario Kart 8 Tournament on the big screen of a pre-war theatre.

On Saturday, September 6, 2014, local gamers will compete in this popular game for a chance to win up to $350 in prizes! The first 32 competitors to register will be guaranteed a place in the tournament, which will take place on the Ohio Theatre’s massive 40′ x 60′ screen in full 1080p HD.

The Event will also host a free costume contest. Dress up as your favorite video game, book, film, fantasy, or other fictional character for a chance to win a $50 PRIZE! (winner will be chosen by Applause-o-Meter).

About The Ohio Theatre:
Built in 1921, The Ohio Theatre is Toledo’s last operating neighborhood theatre. After several years of closure, United North re-opened the theatre in spring of 2013 to provide increased cultural enrichment to the Olde North End neighborhood and the greater Toledo area community. In addition to regular programming, the theatre is available for special event rental and other occasions.
