Presentation on Voting and the Upcoming Election-Way Library

On Tuesday, October 7th at 7 pm, Way Library, in cooperation with the League of Women Voters of the Perrysburg Area (LWVPA), welcomes Dr. Dale Lanigan, Director of the Criminal Justice Studies at Lourdes University, for a presentation on voting and elections.
Dr. Lanigan’s presentation, “Examining Voter Turnout, Analyzing Campaign Strategy, and Previewing the Upcoming Elections” will include a discussion of the upcoming House and Senate races as well as factors affecting turnout at the polls.
Dr. Lanigan was born and raised in Cleveland, Ohio. He received a B.A. in Political Science from Elmira College in Elmira, New York and an M.A. in Theological Studies from The Methodist Theological School in Ohio in Delaware, Ohio. He furthered his education at The University of Toledo where he earned a Doctorate in Educational Sociology. After being an instructor at U.T. for eleven years, he moved to Lourdes College, now Lourdes University, in the year 2000. Since joining the faculty at Lourdes he has taught a variety of classes in Sociology including Introduction to Sociology, Social Problems, Multicultural Diversity, Urban Life and Development and Religion & Human Behavior, and has served as Director of the school’s Criminal Justice Program. He is currently Chairperson of the Department of Sociology and Justice Studies at Lourdes. He also serves on the University’s Curriculum and Policy Review Committee and the Diversity Awareness and Action Committee. He is the Vice-President of the Ohio Council on Criminal Justice Education and has made numerous presentations on issues related to health care, immigration, diversity, and political campaigns at conferences and other venues across the Midwest.
This program is free and open to the public; refreshments will be served.
