UT Department of Art Hosts FOCUS Exhibition

The University of Toledo Department of Arts hosts the 2014 edition of the FOCUS Exhibition, the premier exhibit of high school artwork from Northwest Ohio and Southeast Michigan. FOCUS opens Friday, November 21 and runs through December 7 in the UT Center for the Visual Arts. This show is free and open to the public.

Nearly 1,100 works of art created by high school students from 25 different schools were juried at Sylvania Southview High School by a panel of artists and instructors. Just over 200 pieces were selected for the FOCUS Exhibition, now entering is 36th year.

The show officially opens with an awards ceremony and opening reception set for Saturday, November 22 beginning at 3 p.m. Several participating schools offer superintendent and principal awards in addition to 20 Juror’s Awards that will be presented.

The CVA Main Gallery is located at 620 Grove Place, adjacent to the Toledo Museum of Art. Gallery hours are Monday through Saturday 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., and Sunday 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. The exhibit is free and open to the public.
