Keep the Lake Clean and Your Lawn Green

Way Library is pleased to present an informational talk sponsored by the City of Perrysburg Department of Public Utilities on Wednesday May 20th at 7:00 p.m. The topic is methods to help prevent future algal blooms on Lake Erie. Learn how the runoff from fertilizers containing phosphorus and nitrogen applied during the months of April through June has a direct correlation to algal bloom that occurs in Lake Erie.
Abby Wensink, Strategic Watershed Action Coordinator, will speak about the implementation of the 4R’s fertilizer program for farmers. Discussion will follow on how these guidelines can be adapted to homeowners in their lawn care practices.
The program is free and open to the public. Refreshments will be served.
