Northwest Ohio Development Agency (NODA) and Toledo Fair Housing Center will jointly host a fundraiser celebration “There Is No Place Like Home” on Thursday, August 27 from 5 – 8 p.m. at the Pinnacle, located at 1772 Indian Wood Circle, Maumee, OH, 43537. The happy hour event is part of the Pinnacle’s Twylite Thursday series, with a portion of proceeds benefitting NODA and Toledo Fair Housing Center. Community members are invited to gather for a fun evening while showing their support for expanding housing opportunities. Support from Westfield Insurance helped to sponsor the event.

Remarks will be delivered at 5:30 p.m., including the announcement of the Home Sweet Home Award winners. This program recognizes the significance of neighborhood beautification in creating strong, safe, well-connected communities. Homeowners in three selected neighborhoods—Cherry Street Legacy, Dorr Collingwood, and South Toledo—were nominated for homes with an attractive street view. “When a homeowner gives special attention to their property—a fresh coat of paint, newly planted flowers, a trimmed yard—it inspires other neighbors to do the same,” explained Mike Badik, President and CEO of NODA. Winners will be honored with gift cards, yard signs, and certificates to recognize their efforts.

The lively event will feature food and networking, and guests can enjoy music provided by DJ Nathan Mattimoe. Guests are encouraged to don red shoes to reflect the theme of “There Is No Place Like Home,” inspired by the Wizard of Oz. Representing both opportunity and financial stability, home is a central focus for both agencies.

“There truly is no place like home, because home is the gateway to accessing opportunities and achieving your dreams,” commented Michael Marsh, President and CEO of Toledo Fair Housing Center. By identifying and eliminating discriminatory practices, Toledo Fair Housing Center strives to expand access to housing opportunities.
“NODA enables individuals to achieve financial independence by offering education and financial supports,” explained Mike Badik, President and CEO of NODA. “Whether you are looking to become a homeowner, build your credit, or recover from financial setbacks, we are here to give you the tools to reach your financial goals.”
