Free Diabetes Workshop at Way Library

A free workshop for people with type 2 diabetes or prediabetes will be held at Way Library. Participants will meet from 1:00 – 3:30 p.m. once a week for six weeks starting Tuesday, September 15.

Workshops are facilitated by trained leaders who use the manual developed by the Stanford Patient Education Research Center. Class size is limited to 12 to 16 participants to allow for personalized attention and active participation. Participants will make weekly action plans, share experiences, and help each other solve problems they encounter in creating and carrying out their self-management program. They will also learn techniques to deal with the symptoms of diabetes, fatigue, pain, hyper/hypoglycemia, stress and emotional problems such as depression, anger, fear and frustration.
