TOLEDO, OH – This Sunday, Toledo School for the Arts (TSA) welcomes jazz lovers from across the region to enjoy a holiday concert as part of their longtime and well-attended Songs for Our Sister series.

The concert, aptly titled “Jingle Bell Jazz”, begins at 4pm on December 13th at The Toledo Club. Performing will be Ramona Collins, Joel Zmuda, the BGSU Jazz Vocal Ensemble, Lori Lefevre, Ellie Martin and TSA jazz vocal students joined by teacher Kim Buehler.

Backing the vocalists will be TSA alumni Josh Silver, Nelson Overton II, Tyler Fowler, and TSA parent Jeff Halsey. Halsey is also a jazz professor for Bowling Green State University, TSA’s charter sponsor.

Songs for Our Sister is an ongoing annual concert series presented by Lisa Young, TSA and a committee of local jazz lovers led by John Blaufuss in memory of Young’s mother and jazz legend Mary Ann Russo. “Ramona Collins, when she heard my mother was terminally ill, wanted to pay tribute to her and her vocal jazz career by organizing a party she called Songs For Our Sister,” explained Young. Since its inception, the Songs series has resulted in establishing a scholarship for TSA students, through which Russo always hoped to bring jazz to the next generation. Bringing her wishes to fruition, the series now supports TSA students’ private and group vocal jazz lessons, a graduation scholarship, and tuition for the BGSU New York Voices summer camp – supporting dozens of students since the first concert was staged.

TSA promises a set list featuring crowd holiday favorites such as ‘Baby, It’s Cold Outside’ and ‘I’ve Got My Love to Keep Me Warm’. Tickets to this concert run just $20 and are available at, or from the TSA Box Office at 419.246.8732×226. The Toledo Club venue is located at 235 14th Street in downtown Toledo, Ohio. A cash bar will be available during the event.
