The Franciscan Center of Lourdes University is pleased to announce its May 2016 slate of events.

Tuesday, May 3
Science Alliance for Valuing the Environment, Inc. (S.A.V.E.) is holding its Awards Banquet from 6 to 8 p.m. SAVE will present awards recognizing those who are eco-friendly including educators, schools, community and service organizations, and friend of the environment. Wednesday, May 4
The Sylvania Franciscan Village offers the final of four Father Jim Bacik Easter lectures from 5:30 – 7 p.m. Father Bacik is a widely-regarded theologian, writer, lecturer and pastor. Thursday, May 5

Lourdes University is offering prospective students and their families the opportunity to Visit Campus. The day begins at 10:30 a.m. with check-in starting at 10 a.m. Individuals and their parents can tour campus and Lourdes’ signature apartment-style on-campus housing, meet Lourdes students, share their academic interests with professors and advisors, discuss scholarship opportunities, and meet with coaches. The Lourdes University Lifelong Learning Lecture is “Comic Chemist” with Tom Wray aka “the Comic Chemist.” Mr. Wray is also a certified hazardous materials manager master level and owner/president of Waste Away Services, a hazardous waste brokering firm. The lecture is at 10 a.m. with refreshments offered at 9:15 a.m. Free for members and first-time members. The Lifelong Learning Hot Topic is “Did You Say What I Heard?” presented by actors from the Armchair Theatre branch of the Toledo Repertoire Theatre. The event runs from 11:15 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. $10 for members and $15 for non-members. Reservations are strongly encouraged at least one week prior.
