TOLEDO, Ohio — He shoots… he slides?! Yes, from 5 – 7 p.m. on Wednesday, November 30 fly down the Toledo Zoo’s outdoor Ice Slide and get dizzy on our new Bumper Cars on Ice with your favorite Toledo Walleye hockey players! It’s a cool opportunity that blends two top-notch Toledo attractions: the Toledo Walleye and the Toledo Zoo.

In addition to all the frozen fun, Walleye players and mascots will be available for photos and autographs in the Winter Village at the base of the Ice Slide. Don’t miss your chance to bump, slide and ride with the team!

It’s all part of the 2016 edition of Lights Before Christmas presented by KeyBank. This year’s display features over one million lights and more than 200 illuminated animal images. Other traditions continuing this year, include the Ice Slide now with inner tubes built for two, dancing lights, ice carving demonstrations, live animal encounters and, of course, Santa. New to this year’s Winter Village sponsored by Kroger is Bumper Cars on Ice! It would not be Lights without the Zoo’s famous hot chocolate, homemade fudge and baked goods!

The Lights display runs through December 31, 2016 but will be closed Christmas Eve night, Christmas Day and New Year’s Day. Hours of operation for Lights are 3-8 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and 3-9 p.m. Friday and Saturday. The Zoo will close one hour after last admission to allow guests to finish their visit. Toledo Zoo members receive free and unlimited Monday-Thursday Lights visits plus one free weekend visit. Visitors can save $1 per ticket by ordering online at
