St Francis de Sales swim team takes first place in the TRAC championship meet on Saturday, January 21st, 2017

Toledo, OH, January 23, 2017: St Francis de Sales swim team competed in the TRAC (Three Rivers Athletic Conference) championship meet held at Fremont Ross High School on Saturday, January 21st, 2017.

St Francis de Sales Aqua Knights swim and dive team left victorious, taking first place, not only in the overall standings but in many individual events. St Francis took 1st place overall with 682 points. Boys teams behind them included: Findlay High School 481 points, Fremont Ross High School 452 points, St John’s Jesuit 215 points, Clay High School 194 points, Lima High School 71 points, and Whitmer 30 points.

Michael Allen, diver, finished 1st in diving. He earned the title of TRAC diver of the year for the 2016-2017 season. Brent Ransom, head coach, was named TRAC coach of the year for the 2016-2017 season.

The Knights also dominated in individual swimming events:

– 200 Freestyle – 1st Brady Ireland (FR), 3rd Conner Bishop (SO), 4th Theo Jones (SO), 5th Brandon Varnes

– 200 Individual Medley – 2nd Griff Littlehale (JR), 3rd Nick Peeps (JR), 5th Drew Grespin (SO)

– 50 Freestyle – 1st Jacob Sobczak (JR)

– 100 Butterfly – 2nd Brady Ireland (FR), 3rd Blake Noonan (SR), 5th Zachary McClellan (FR)

– 100 Freestyle – 1st Conner Bishop (SO), 3rd Brandon Varnes (JR), 4th TJ Hasselman

– 500 Freestyle – 1st Theo Jones (SO), 2nd Zachary McClellan (FR), 6th Patrick Hildreth (FR)

– 100 Backstroke – 1st Blake Noonan (SR), 2nd Griff Littlehale (JR), 3rd TJ Hasselman (SO)

– 100 Breaststroke – 2nd Nick Peeps (JR), 3rd Drew Grespin (SO), 6th AJ Wawrzyniak (SR)

– 200 Free Relay – SFS 1st place, 3rd place teams

– 200 Medley Relay – SFS 1st place, 4th place teams

– 400 Free Relay – SFS 1st place, 3rd place teams–
