The Lourdes University Red Cross Club will offer a Blood Drive on Tuesday, February 7, from 10:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. in the Franciscan Center, 6832 Convent Blvd., in Sylvania. On that day, the Love Your Melon organization is collaborating with the Lourdes University Red Cross Club to provide a special Valentine’s Day gift to children at local hospitals. During the blood drive, donors and volunteers can make a Valentine’s Day card that will be delivered to patients at area children’s hospitals.

Lourdes’ Red Cross Club was established in 2014 by social work alumna and then student Megan Mosiniak. Fellow social work major Margaret Janiga is the 2016-2017 coordinator and is proud to continue the tradition. A native of East Aurora, NY, Margaret also plays for the Gray Wolves lacrosse team as a goal keeper.

Love Your Melon is an apparel brand dedicated to giving a hat to every child battling cancer in America as well as supporting nonprofit organizations who lead the fight against pediatric cancer.

Those wishing to give blood are asked to make an appointment by calling 716-374-0442 or register online at www.redcrossblood.org using the code LOURDES. Donors must present a photo ID at appointment.
