PERRYSBURG, OH (January 30, 2017) –Truck loads of toys, countless hours of cleaning and sorting, dozens of volunteers, thousands of dollars in new batteries, and all worth every second and penny for what is to come this Friday, February 3rd.
The 7th Annual Play It Forward Used Toy Drive collected a record amount of toys earlier this month. Since the collection day, Cousino Restoration and numerous shifts of volunteers have been working to deep clean the hundreds of thousands of toys that were collected to prepare them for their big day! This Friday, February 3rd, the toys will be distributed to local charities and organizations that serve underprivileged kids in our community.
“It is a huge project and tons of work but we just love doing it” said Shelly Konz from Cousino Restoration. “The abundance of toys we receive speaks volumes to the compassion of our community. It’s great that we can be this middle man to take the no longer wanted toys and get them to kids who will use them.”
On Friday between 9am and 4pm, several pre-determined organizations will be coming to Cousino Restoration to pick up their toys. All of the toys will have no batteries provided by Batteries Plus. Some of the charities include The YWCA, New Beginnings Mercy Home, Lucas County Children Services and Heartbeat of Toledo.
