Black & White Transportation is proud to be the title sponsor of the Toledo Jazz Orchestra Bistro Series: It’s Latin to Me featuring Los Gatos, the region’s premier Latin jazz ensemble, on Thursday, September 21 at Registry Bistro.

The band, which hails from Michigan and plays weekly in Ann Arbor, is known for its high-intensity jazz and compilations of boleros; pachangas; mambos; cha cha chas; and exotic, 6/8 Afro/Cuban dance music.

In a review of its most recent album, “Insight,” the music is acclaimed as “classy, groove-driven dance music that, at its best, sparkles like a gem.”

Los Gatos was assembled by drummer and bandleader, Pete Siers, in 1997. Other band members include Cary Kocher, (vibes, vocals), Kurt Krahnke, (bass), Brian DiBlassio, (vocals, piano) and Al DiBlassio, (lead vocals, percussion).

“With their high energy and vibes-based Latin jazz, Los Gatos is sure to be a crowd pleaser,” said Scott Potter, owner of Black & White Transportation. “We are thrilled to help the Toledo Jazz Orchestra introduce their unique sound to Toledo.”

Tickets are $30 and include light hors d’oeuvres. Tickets can be purchased from The Valentine Theatre box office by calling 419.242.2787 or by visiting The Valentine Theatre website.
