HSP to Hold ‘1 in 5’ Breakfast Presented by Mercy Health

Tuesday, September 12, 2017; TOLEDO, OHIO – On Monday, November 13, the Homeless Services Partnership (HSP) will host the 1 in 5 Breakfast and Collaboration, presented by Mercy Health. This is the first formal event dedicated to bringing community and business leaders together to share the status and needs of the 1 in 5 in Lucas county live at or below the poverty level.

The event will be held at Mercy Health – St. Vincent Medical Center located at 2213 Cherry Street beginning at 7:30 a.m. Tickets to the 1 in 5 Breakfast and Collaboration, presented by Mercy Health can be purchased at www.HSP1in5Breakfast.EventBrite.com.

The Homeless Services Partnership is a collaboration of four local agencies who share the mission to end hunger and homelessness in the community. The Aurora Project, Bethany House, Family House, and Catholic Charities, La Posada work together to provide more effective and efficient service delivery by sharing resources, eliminating redundancies, and building on each other’s strengths.

“We look forward to sharing the successes of the Homeless Services Partnership,” said Deidra Lashley, Executive Director of Bethany House. “The Homeless Services Partnership has strengthened our services which has benefitted our community, and most importantly, the families that we serve.”

The Homeless Services Partnership invites local organizations to strengthen the impact of this event through sponsorships. All funds raised will be allocated equally to HSP partners to continue the mission and services unique to each agency. About the Homeless Services Partnership: The Homeless Services Partnership is a collaboration of four local agencies who share the mission to end hunger and homelessness in the community. The Aurora Project, Bethany House, Family House, and Catholic Charities, La Posada join to advocate for those they serve by raising awareness of the various causes of homelessness and the diversity of services needed to transform lives. As a partnership, they work together to provide more effective and efficient service delivery by sharing resources, eliminating redundancies, and building on each other’s strengths. HSP has collaborated on five successful grants totaling $180,000 to benefit the community, identified cost saving opportunities within the individual agencies, and established quarterly training for staff members of the respective agencies.
