The Board of Trustees of Maumee Valley Country Day School invites you to the installation ceremony of Head of School Lynn Casto

Lynn Casto will be installed as the Eleventh Head of School of Maumee Valley Country Day School, in a ceremony Friday, September 28, 2018, 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. on the Anning Lawn on the campus of Maumee Valley Country Day School. Trustee Emerita & Alumni Parent Ann Stranahan will be the honored speaker at the celebratory event. A reception and refreshments will immediately follow the ceremony.

Lynn comes to MVCDS from the Sanford School in Hockessin, Delaware, where she served as the Upper School Head since 2013. At Sanford, Lynn was tasked with figuring out how to retain students who were leaving in large numbers after Middle School. She implemented a new schedule with longer class times, added 21 electives, and taught an AP Art History class to demonstrate experiential learning in the context of an AP curriculum. Lynn worked closely with admissions to manage the transition better between the Middle and Upper Schools. Within four years enrollment grew by 19 percent.

Lynn also brings an impressive background in independent school education to Maumee Valley. She attended the Columbus School for Girls, discovering a dual love for athletics and the arts. At Davidson College, she earned a bachelor’s degree in Art History while playing NCAA Division I Lacrosse. She went on to earn two masters degrees in education, one in art education from The Ohio State University, and a second in private school leadership from the prestigious Teachers College at Columbia University. She taught and coached at the Brookwood School in Georgia, and at Charlotte Country Day School in North Carolina.
