Science Alliance for Valuing the Environment, Inc. (S.A.V.E.) presents “Santa, St. Francis & the Animals” on Saturday, December 1 from 2 to 4 p.m. in the Canticle Center, 5335 Silica Drive, in Sylvania. The event is free and open to the public. Co-sponsored by the Lourdes University Education Department and the Center for Science Education & The Environment, the event offers delicious hot cocoa and cookies courtesy of the Christ Child Society.

Young children will enjoy meeting Santa and great storytelling by Mrs. Claus! Hands-on activities include fun crafts, face painting and interacting with animals. In addition, meet St. Francis and hear about the first ever Christmas celebration that he began! Lourdes University students are Santa’s elves who will assist youngsters as they meet the extraordinary furry and not-so-furry animals. Bring your camera!

Attendees are encouraged to bring a donation of cat and/or dog food to benefit Humane Ohio, a pet food bank for low-income households.
