Tony Packo’s® and their customers team up to support The Salvation Army

Toledo, OH: On February 20, 2019, Tony Packo’s will present The Salvation Army with a check for $3,743, raised through the Giving Tuesday, Pickles Against Poverty, and Giving Back Gift Card campaigns which ran in all five Tony Packos locations during the month of December 2018. The check will be presented to The Salvation Army by Tony Packo’s CEO, Jimmy Harmon at 11:30 am at Packo’s at the Park, 7 S Superior.

Packo’s customers were given the opportunity to help support the community through multiple initiatives. On National Giving Tuesday, Packo’s made an in-kind donation of the value of any Gift Card purchased that day to the Salvation Army. During the Pickles Against Poverty campaign, Packo’s donated a $1.00 for every full order of pickles and fifty cents for every half order of pickles placed during several weeks in December. Over 2,000 orders of fried pickles were served. For nine days prior to Christmas, any Gift Card purchase of $25.00 or more was matched not only with a $5.00 donation to the Salvation Army but with a $5.00 give back to the customer.

These opportunities mark the second year of a partnership between the Hungarian restaurant group and The Salvation Army. Packo’s is committed to working with the Salvation Army throughout the year to support their missions and to assist those in need in Toledo and the surrounding communities. “This was a natural partnership. We share the same core values and commitment to the community as the Salvation Army” says Jimmy Harmon, CEO of Tony Packo’s Toledo, LLC.
“The Salvation Army is honored to carry on this tradition of caring for our neighbors in need, not only at Christmas, but throughout the entire year. I’m personally grateful to Tony Packo’s for our partnership which helps us to sustain that service, and for their untiring commitment to building a stronger community through meeting the needs of others.” Major Tom Duperree, Area Coordinator for The Salvation Army Northwest Ohio Area Services.?
