WHAT: 25th TMACOG Transportation Summit: Air, Road, Rail, and Water – All Modes Lead to Economic Development

WHEN: Friday, March 29, 8 a.m. – 2 p.m.

WHERE: Premier Banquet Hall, 4480 Heatherdowns Blvd, Toledo

WHO: This half-day meeting is attended by elected and appointed officials, transportation planners, and transportation stakeholders.

The 2019 Transportation Summit will focus on the different modes of transportation and their connection to economic development in northwest Ohio and southeast Michigan.

8:45 a.m. Panel: Transportation Investments Equal Economic Development
Hyperloop, shipping infrastructure, intermodal connections. A panel will discuss how improvements and expansion of all modes of the transportation system drive economic development.
Moderated by Lissa Guyton, 13abc.

10:30 a.m. Project Updates: The Latest on Major Projects
Where will the traffic cones be coming down or going up? A review of current and planned roadway construction projects.

12:45 p.m. Luncheon Keynote: Dr. Alexander Metcalf, PhD, president, Transportation Economics & Management Systems Inc. (TEMS)

Dr. Metcalf will talk about recent studies evaluating passenger rail options including a look at reviving connections between Toledo and Detroit, and between Ann Arbor and Traverse City, Michigan.
