Presentation on Prohibition at Way Library – June 26

The 100th anniversary of the ratification of the 18th Amendment was marked earlier this year. It prohibited the sale, manufacture, and transportation of alcoholic beverages anywhere in the United States.

Way Library announces a special presentation, “Prohibition Came Early to Perrysburg,” on Wednesday, June 26 at 7:00 p.m. in the library’s lower level meeting space.

Perrysburg would have died of thirst during Prohibition if it wasn’t for Maumee. Local historian and author Richard Baranowski explains why as he recounts some of those colorful days exactly 100 years ago when Prohibition ruled the land and Perrysburg in particular.

Thanks to support from Directions Credit Union, admission and refreshments are free of charge.
