Kwanzaa Park Neighbors Block Watch Meeting
Re: Kwanzaa Park Neighbors – Block Watch Meeting
May 4, 2026 6:00 – 7:00 pm at The Padua Center
The Kwanzaa Park Neighbors will welcome Michael K. Day Sr. as guest speaker to the regular monthly Block Watch meeting. Michael Day is the President of The House of Day Funeral Service.
Mr. Day is a graduate of Cincinnati College of Mortuary Science 1978, Licensed Funeral Director, Licensed Embalmer and Insurance Agent. A married father of three sons, and member of Prince Hall Masons, he is active in church and community. Mr. Day has worked in funeral service his entire life, beginning first at home in the family business, then abroad with Hall-Jordan Funeral Home, Cincinnati, Ohio, McFall Brothers Funeral Home, Detroit, Michigan and Stinson Funeral Homes, Detroit, Michigan. With this came a wealth of knowledge and experience that he has brought back to Toledo.
Working through the grief from the passing of a loved one can be challenging. Mr. Day will be here to share ways in which we can prepare for that time in life, when our journey here on earth, or the journey of a loved one is over. Kwanzaa Park Neighbors along with other members of the community will have the opportunity to ask questions and participate in conversation about funeral services.
During the meeting our Community Officer from the Toledo Police Department will give the crime statistics for our neighborhood. The Block Watch meeting offers an opportunity for neighbors to share concerns for the neighborhood and to work with not only the Toledo Police Department but the Fire Department as well to enhance public safety.
The meeting is free and open to the public. Refreshments will be served.
With construction work continuing at St. Anthony Church, parking maybe tricky. Parking is still available in the back parking lot but you will need to come to the front door to enter the building (you must go through the side gate by the garage and walk up through the side yard. Parking is also available in the front on Nebraska Ave. (and is preferred) There is a ramp located in front on the east side of the building for those who would like to use it.
