Description/Content: Participants in this workshop will learn to train others and conduct an eight-session parent training program designed to prevent child maltreatment, build parents’ positive, nonviolent discipline techniques, and mobilize communities and families to protect children from violence. Once trained, participants will be part of a network of over 2000 ACT Against Violence trained professionals across the nation, and will benefit from technical and networking support from the American Psychological Association’s ACT Against Violence Program. Who Should Attend: Psychologists, Social Workers, Counselors, Child and Family Advocates, Prevention Specialists, Health Service Providers, Early Childhood Professionals, Family Educators, Marriage and Family Therapists
Objectives: By the end of the training, participants will be able to:
? Conduct the eight-session ACT PRSK parent training program
? Train others in how to implement the ACT PRSK program
? Use effective methods of training adult learners

The State of Ohio Counselor, Social Worker and Marriage & Family Therapist Board has approved this activity for 12 credits of Continuing Professional Education for Social Workers, Provider No. RCX050601 and 12 credits of Continuing Professional Education for Counselors, Provider No. RSX100301. CE Credits for Psychologists will be provided by the American Psychological Association.
