Toledo Museum of Art Names New Chief Operating Officer
Toledo, Ohio—After a national search, the Toledo Museum of Art (TMA) has named Rod Bigelow as Chief Operating Officer (COO), effective February 4, 2008. He will succeed the Museum’s current COO, Carol Bintz, who retires in February after 17 years at TMA. In his new position, Mr. Bigelow will oversee several areas of the Museum’s operations, including finance, human resources, information technology, facilities, maintenance, and protective services.
“Carol Bintz has been an enormously effective member of the Museum’s management team for many years, and identifying a capable successor was critical,” said TMA Director Don Bacigalupi. “In Rod Bigelow, I believe we have made a stellar choice. Rod is a skilled and experienced professional and will be a tremendous asset for TMA and the Toledo community.”
Mr. Bigelow holds a Masters of Business Administration degree from Pacific Lutheran University in Tacoma, WA, and has more than 12 years experience in financial and executive management, most recently as the Director of Administrative and Financial Services at The Art Institute of Seattle and previously as Chief Financial Officer at the Tacoma Art Museum.
“It’s an honor to join the family of staff and volunteers at the Toledo Museum of Art,” Mr. Bigelow said. “I’m excited to become part of a thriving community-oriented museum with such a rich history.”
