Area Couple Uses Humor To Serve Clients; Work Wins 3 Addys
You’ve probably heard their voices many times - on TV and radio commercials, maybe on a website, or while on hold. Amy Scott and Scott Greggory are a husband and wife voiceover team that specializes in using humor to inform and entertain their audiences.
As Creative Director for the local marketing agency BusinessVoice, Scott writes and records copy for companies all over the country. He and Amy have also been recording for other clients in their home studio for several years. But wherever they’re working, the couple excels at making people laugh - and there are plenty of awards to prove it. “Through BusinessVoice and independently our humorous approach to markekting has won more than 50 local, regional and national awards,” said Scott.
In fact, their work was honored again last night (2/21) at the Northwest Ohio Addy Awards ceremony. Scott’s concepts, scripts and voiceover, combined with Amy’s skillful voice work, earned BusinessVoice one Gold and two Silver Addys. The winning entries were all On Hold Messaging productions created for two area clients - Amazing Space and The Kellermeyer Company.
“Having humorous On Hold Messaging has been a benefit to Kellermeyer,” says Jill Kegler, company president. “Our callers really enjoy being on hold. In fact, some have asked to be put back on hold to finish listening.“
Dave Parrish, President of Amazing Space, agrees. “Daily we get compliments on the production from customers calling in, and it definitely contributes to Amazing Space's brand development.”
“The first goal of advertising is to get the audience’s attention,” said Amy. “If we can do that and keep the audience engaged by making them laugh, they’re more likely to be receptive to our client’s message.”

Scott noted that “simply visiting the site is meant to be a fun experience. We hope it’s the kind of website that people tell their friends about, if only to share a couple of laughs.”
