Yoga for Everyone - On the Roof!

Posted: Friday, May 16, 2008 by: Rhonda B. Sewell | Category: Health

What better place to practice yoga and become harmonious with mind, body, and spirit than atop the Civic Plaza (rooftop) at Main Library, 325 Michigan Street in downtown Toledo. Yoga loosely means “union” in Sanskrit, the language of ancient India.

We can’t think of a more beautiful place than Main Library’s Civic Plaza for those of you curious about yoga. Please join us for one morning, afternoon or evening session of introductory yoga and find out if it’s right for you.

Scheduled free yoga sessions (Registration required):
Friday, June 13/ 12:15-1:15 p.m. Instructor: Anne Boyle (please bring a mat or blanket)
Tuesday, July 8/ 9:15-10:15 a.m. Instructor: April Reinhart Harrison (please bring a mat or blanket)
Monday, August 11/ 7:15-8:15 p.m. Instructor: Michael Zerner (please bring a mat or blanket)

The Civic Plaza, which can be accessed from the second floor, features walkways and benches and is a spacious park-like setting. The outdoor area is approximately 240 feet by 400 feet and includes one-half acre of grass. What a perfect place to relax and enjoy the skyline downtown view! In case of inclement weather, the class will be held in the Huntington Meeting Room.
Registration is required and class size is limited. Please call 419.259.5209 for more details and to register. Interpreters for the hearing impaired are available by calling 419.259.5266.
