Taking it to the Street: Downtown Sylvania Street Festival
“Taking it to the Streets – Downtown Sylvania”, a family friendly street festival, sponsored by SHOP Sylvania will be held on Main Street in Sylvania on Thursday July 10, 2007 from 5:00 – 9:00 PM. The streets will be closed from the Sylvania Historical Village to Monroe St., and businesses will be open and with activities for young and old.
The event will be held during the Jamie Farr Owens Corning Classic Week and celebrate Sylvania’s welcome to the golfers, their families and residents of Sylvania. This event will feature children’s activities conducted by the JCC/YMCA at the Sylvania Historical Village and the Sylvania Area Fire Department Safety Trailer on display. There will be several entertainment venues. A car show will be featured and a people choice and best of show trophy will be awarded.
Downtown Sylvania restaurants Jenna’s, J & G Pizza, and Trattorria Sofo will be open, and San Francisco Oven, Southbriar Restaurant and Cold Fusion Ice Cream will be on the street. Miller beer and HOBNOB wines will be featured at the event..
Several downtown businesses plan to stay open and reconnect the retail community to local residents and this opportunity will highlight the community and encourage shopping locally. The street festival is sponsored by The Toledo Free Press with support from Huntington Banks, Miller Lite and Shop Sylvania
