The Little Sisters of the Poor are calling out the dogs for the 2008 Dog Days of Summer Festival which will be held on Sunday, August 3rd at Sacred Heart Home for the Elderly at 930 S. Wynn Road in Oregon.

The festival, featuring man’s best friend, will be held from Noon to 6:00 pm and will feature the ever-popular Pooch Parade at 4:30 pm. You can walk your costumed dog for $5 or enter a float made out of a cart or wagon for $10. There will a Pooch Party Store and Doggie Day Care to give your dog a break from the festivities. And, of course, we will be selling the infamous “Nun-Better” dog biscuits made by the Sisters, Residents and staff of Sacred Heart Home.

A new feature at the festival this year will be an art & craft fair. Reserve a 12 x 12 space for $25.

Activities will include $1000 Raffle, Bingo, musical entertainment, kid’s games, hamburgs, hot dogs and barbeque chicken, French fries, ice cream and much more. The event will be held rain or shine with activities indoors and outdoors. The grand prize for the Summer Raffle is $1000 – tickets are $5 each, 6 for $25 or 15 for $50.

There will be fun for the whole family - pet not required to attend!

To purchase raffle tickets, register for the parade or craft fair or to volunteer call 419-698-4331 or e-mail to: [email protected]. All proceeds will benefit the Little Sisters of the Poor in caring for the elderly in NW Ohio.
