2009 Sandusky County Visitors Guides Now Available
FREMONT, OHIO The 2009 Sandusky County Visitors Guides have arrived and are ready for distribution from the office of the Sandusky County Convention & Visitors Bureau at 712 North Street, Suite 102 in Fremont, Ohio.
While state surveys indicate almost 70% of travelers conduct vacation research on the Internet, with many making reservations while surfing, the need for a printed Visitors Guide remains strong as these internet surfers then click for a printed Visitors Guide of the area to be sent to them.
Travelers want interesting, concise information presented in a format they can use at a glance. New this year, the guide is printed in the most-popular size of 8-1/2 X 5-1/2. Travelers use ads in the guide to make many decisions, especially as it pertains to dining and lodging.
The Ohio Turnpike continues to be the largest distributor of the Visitors Guide for the Bureau. In addition to the twenty brochure racks the Bureau maintains in the county, the brochure is distributed at all Tourist Information Centers operated by the Ohio Department of Transportation, CVB’s in the State, and AAA offices.
The Sandusky County Convention & Visitors Bureau encourages economic development of Sandusky County through promotion of tourism and conventions and by advertisement and other educational and informational means, as a destination for overnight accommodations by non-residents whose interest may be for business, pleasure or other purposes.
The Bureau is funded by a 3% county lodging tax enacted in 1985 by the Sandusky County Commissioners. The City of Fremont and Sandusky Township provide additional funding through donations from an additional lodging tax collected by these entities.
