TOLEDO - Five former Rockets will return to the Glass Bowl to serve as guest coaches for the 2009 Spring Football Game on Friday, April 17. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. Admission is free.

Lance Moore, Bruce Gradkowski, Wasean Tait, Mike Bell and Jalen Parmele will all be on the sidelines calling the players for the Blue and Gold teams. Head Coach Tim Beckman said a sixth former Rocket will be added to the coaching roster prior to the game.

Moore (2001-04), currently a wide receiver for the New Orleans Saints, is UT’s all-time leading receiver with 222 receptions. Gradkowski (2002-05), a quarterback with the Oakland Raiders, is UT’s all-time leading passer with 9,225 yards. Tait (1993-98) and Parmele (2004-07) are the No.2 and No. 4 rushers on the Rockets’ all-time list with 4,338 and 3,119 yards, respectively. Bell, a former Toledo fire chief, was a letter winner from 1974-76 and team captain in 1976.

Beckman will also host a "Meet and Greet" event in the Stadium Club (first floor of the Press Tower) from 5:30-7:00 p.m. The event, presented by the Toledo Blade, costs $25 and includes an autographed item from Coach Beckman as well as tailgate food and beverages. Tickets may be purchased at the Savage Arena box office, by mail (forms available at www.utrockets.com) or by calling 419-530-5316.

The 2009 Spring Game will be a "true" scrimmage with the Rockets divided into Blue and Gold teams. The score and clock will be kept per normal NCAA rules, except that the second half will feature a "running" clock.

After the game, Rocket players will be signing autographs in the West Concourse (underneath the Press Tower).
