20 North Gallery Exhibits Review / Preview
Downtown gallery presents summer group show
Toledo, OH—July 2, 2009. On Thursday, July 16th, 20 North Gallery will begin their summer exhibit Review / Preview, a show of paintings, ceramics, jewelry and sculpture, featuring the local, regional and international artists who have been the core of 20 North's exhibitions over the past seventeen years--as well as a preview of artists to be featured in the up-coming 2009 - 2010 season. Among the works to be shown will be those by Kimberly Arden, WiI Clay, Steven Conine, Edith Franklin, Larry Golba, Adam Grant, Marian Owczarski, Andrei Rabodzeenko, Julie Schnell Madden, Robin Schultes, Joseph Sheppard and West Zantgraff. Review / Preview will continue through October 10, 2009 with artists and their works rotating monthly. This showing will take place as part of the Arts Commission of Greater Toledo/Warehouse District Art Walk event.
In 1992, St. Clair Street was virtually abandoned--now it is a thriving arts/entertainment zone and "Arts Hotspot" in the downtown landscape. 20 North Gallery was the pioneer in this location--and was so successful at attracting people who had never been downtown before—that this section of downtown became the home of the new stadium, the new arena, restaurants, shops and other destination points in the Toledo community.
“The Art Walk events represent a major accomplishment for all those who have contributed to the success of downtown development over the past seventeen years,” states 20 North Gallery owner Eric Hillenbrand. “Celebrating a successful run of seventeen years for a downtown arts business is good news for all who believe in a vibrant and dynamic Downtown. The arts are recognized as an economic driver for urban revitalization.”
