Digital Bookmobile is Comes to Toledo on Friday, July 31

The Toledo-Lucas County Public Library (TLCPL) joins Buckeye CableSystem from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Friday, July 31 for a free, scheduled appearance of OverDrive Inc.’s Digital Bookmobile at Sanger Branch Library, 3030 W. Central Ave.

Millions of people are already downloading audiobooks from Dr. Seuss to Danielle Steel for free from their public libraries, and you can too! Find out more at this special event and board the Digital Bookmobile, a 74-foot, 18-wheel tractor-trailer, equipped with broadband Internet-connected PCs, high-definition monitors, premium sound systems, and a variety of portable media players.

Interactive computer stations aboard the bookmobile give visitors an opportunity to search a digital media collection, use supported mobile devices, and sample eBooks, audiobooks, music and video offered from the Library. With instructional videos, readers of all ages who board the bookmobile, will experience new ways to enjoy digital books and more at the Toledo-Lucas County Public Library.

*Buckeye CableSystem will be present on July 31 as a vendor near the Digital Bookmobile with promotional materials and a special Gift Pack Give-away!

*A Library 2009 Summer Reading Club Read! Create! Participate! table will also be located near the Digital Bookmobile for readers of all ages to sign up for this annual reading program complete with prizes and fun!

*TLCPL’s Outreach Services department will be present with the Library bookmobile, which serves as one of the oldest mobile library services in the nation. TLCPL’s bookmobile started in the late 1930s on horse and buggy.
