Lourdes Summer Science Camp to Visit Polyhouse

Campers will attend a session on sustainable agriculture with Sr. Jeremias Stinson, OSF, at the Polyhouse. The Polyhouse is a 20’ X 48’ Quonset hut style plastic covered building next to the Alverno Studio on the grounds of Lourdes College. Sr. Jeremias and Sr. Grace Ellen began the Polyhouse as a way to grow local plants and vegetables all year long

Campers will construct toad houses in the Life Lab

WHO:
Week three of the Life Lab’s Summer Science Camp will soon be underway at Lourdes College. Students from Arbor Hills, Bowsher, Fallen Timbers, Gateway, Greenwood, Grove Patterson, Jackman, Leverette Junior High, Monac, Montessori of Bowling Green, St. Joseph’s of Sylvania, Start, Timberstone, Toledo School for the Arts, Washington Gifted and Whittier will be in attendance.
Throughout the week, campers will take a nature scavenger hunt, tie-dye t-shirts, collect invertebrates and invertebrates at Ten Mile Creek, construct a toad house, search for fossils at Fossil Park, learning about butterfly and moth life cycles and will make “caterpillar condos.”
