Chili and Pie Baking Contest
The Genoa Retirement Village will be holding their Fall Pie Baking and Chili contest on September 19, 2009.
Pies are to be at the corner of Main and 6th St. between 9am and 10am. Judging will be from 12 noon until 1:30pm. After judging a piece of the winning pies will be showcased. There will be 1st, 2nd and 3rd prizes in the three categories :
FRUIT, NUT AND PUMPKIN
All pies must be baked and cooled and NO cream pies will be accepted. Contestants need to bring two index cards, one with name, address and phone number and name of pie. The other card should have name of pie and ingredients used only.
The chili should be in a crock pot and be brought to same place between 10 and 11 am. Judging will be at 12 noon. An index card with name, address, phone and name of chili should be included. Pies and chili will be sold after judging with all proceeds going to the Alzheimer's Association.
