Toledo Opera Sapphire Ball, Saturday, October 24, 2009
The Sapphire Ball, which has been held annually for 49 consecutive years, will once again take center stage on Saturday, October 24, 2009 at the Crowne Plaza, downtown Toledo. Cocktails at 6:30pm, Dinner at 8:00pm.
This lovely black tie event raises approximately 10% of the Opera’s annual income making the Sapphire Ball the single most important fundraising activity in support of Toledo Opera’s mission: to produce opera performances of the highest quality here in northwest Ohio and to offer educational programming that reaches 20,000 school children each year.
The Ball will feature a fabulous gourmet dinner: Pan-Seared Miso Brined Sea Bass; Roasted Rare Beef Tenderloin with Sweet Port Jus; and Roasted Portabella, Tomato & Boursin Stack over Sweet Corn Polenta. A live auction and dancing will follow. The evening highlight will be a musical interlude performed by the Toledo Opera cast of Falstaff which opens the opera season on Saturday, November 7th.

Individual tickets are $250 with a special discount provided for Opera Season Subscribers of $50 ($200 per ticket.) Tables for ten guests and sponsorship opportunities are also available.
