The 34th annual Glass City Marathon is pleased to announce its new major event sponsors, The University of Toledo and WTOL-Channel 11. In addition, the 2010 Glass City Marathon will feature a new race course designed to be the best and fastest course in the Midwest. Join us Sunday, April 25, 2010 to experience the new course, new venue, and an amazing experience at the University of Toledo campus.

The 2010 Glass City Marathon Presented by the University of Toledo and WTOL-Channel 11 race course will wind through quaint and eclectic neighborhoods, beautiful Metroparks trails and the picturesque University of Toledo campus all designed to showcase the area’s most popular points of interest. Several water stops along with medical services will be offered along the race course. The 2010 Glass City Marathon will offer a race experience designed for the entire family offering multiple races to fit every level of participant including a marathon, half marathon, 5-person marathon relay, 5K and two kid’s races. Dave’s Performance Footgear is the official training team for the marathon and half marathon with registration kicking off on Saturday, Nov 14 at Wildwood Metropark. The training runs will begin in December and will provide heart rate coaching and support to help you accomplish your goal.

The Glass City Marathon has established a partnership with the Great Lakes Center for Autism as its benefitting non-profit charity to “Give Autism the Boot One Mile at a Timeâ€Â. A portion of the proceeds received from the Marathon and its family of races will benefit the remarkable work of the Great Lakes Center for Autism. The Great Lakes Center for Autism works within the community to promote awareness of Autism as well as collaborates with community partners to provide programming, services, and support for those affected by autism. In the past 4 years, through the Give Autism the Boot campaign, the GLCA has distributed $300,000 to 16 local organizations that serve families affected by autism.

The Marathon weekend will promote health and wellness for the entire family. In conjunction with the Marathon and its family of races, a Wellness and Fitness Exposition will take place at Savage Arena on Saturday April 24, 2010, from 10am-7pm.
