Unison BHG Announces 2010 Training Schedule
Unison Behavioral Health Group’s advance practice training program is widely recognized among professionals in Northwest Ohio as a trusted resource for behavioral health and substance abuse education. Unison is a provider of continuing education units for counselors and social workers through the Ohio Counselor, Social Worker and Marriage and Family Therapy Board. The agency also applies for registered contact hours (RCH’s) for trainings as approved through the Ohio Chemical Dependency Board.
According to Bill Emahiser, LPCC-S, Unison’s Professional Development Manager, “Our educational programs provide a valuable, local opportunity to learn and grow professionally.” Mr. Emahiser adds, “Education is a critical component to Unison’s mission.”
Nearly 400 psychologists, teachers, counselors, social workers, criminal justice professionals, chemical dependency professionals and nurses benefitted from Unison trainings in 2009.
Topics scheduled to be covered in 2010 include: Anxiety Disorders in Children and Adolescents, Use of Psychiatric Medications, When You Can’t Get Enough – The Assessment and Treatment of Addictive Behavior, Ethics, Clinical Supervision and Suicide/Homicide Risk Assessment. In addition, Unison’s advance practice training program will expand in 2010 to include the ability to offer specialized trainings “on-site.”
