African American Read-In – February 18

The African-American Read-In is a national event sponsored by the National Council of Teachers of English. Lourdes will participate in the 21st Read-In on Thursday, February 18 from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. in the Ebeid Center located in the lower level of Delp Hall. The public is invited to attend and/or participate. Reading selections are available at the circulation desk of Duns Scotus Library.

Lourdes College Celebration of Black History Month – February 24

The Lourdes College annual Celebration of Black History Month will feature Director of the City of Toledo Board of Community Relations Juanita Green, poet Annette McClair, who will read her original work “Help! Somebody” and Director of the Office of Equity and Diversity at Bowling Green State University Marshall Rose. The event also features musical performances by The Clarence Smith Community Chorus, Lourdes College Chorus and Good Company Ensemble and the Sylvania Community Orchestra. 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. in the Franciscan Theatre. Scott High School Gospel Choir concert – February 25

A continuation of the celebration will commence the following day on February 25, with a musical performance by the Scott High School Gospel Choir. This event is will be held in the Ebeid Student Center located in the lower level of Delp Hall from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. Free and open to the public.
