The Arts Commission of Greater Toledo’s spring fundraiser, The Mix Twenty10, will be held on Saturday, March 20. We are taking over the Secor Hotel, 425 Jefferson, in Downtown Toledo, from 7:00 PM to 1:00 AM. once again, but this year we are thinking about white leather boots, neon pinks and greens, and lots of silver for sparkle, against a stark white background. And we need your help to make it all happen! On Friday, February 19, 6:00-8:00 p.m., the public is invited to a free preview event, at the Secor Gallery, located on the first floor of the Secor Hotel.

The involvement of our local artists is a huge part of what makes The Mix Toledo’s best party. The original works of 50 artists will be featured in The Mix Twenty10 - a celebration of the future—from a 1970’s perspective, that is. Guests at the preview event will be able to make opening bids on artwork, which will be sold in a silent auction the night of The Mix Twenty10, March 20th.

Following is a partial listing of the participating artists:

Calvin Babich; Amy Beeler; Carly Dahl; Luke Ellison; Rex Fogt, Jorge Gallardo, Penny Gentieu; Tina Gionis, Phil Hazard; Dan Hernandez; Carol Imes-Luscombe; Ivan Kende; Michelle Kepford; Nate Masternak; Buzz Meyers; Stephen Mockensturm; Blair Moritz; Fraser Phibbs; Richard Reed; Karen Roderick Lingeman; Arturo Rodriguez; Jody Russ; Jack Schmidt; Kelly Sheehan; Sue Stewart; Jan Thomas; Ann Tubbs; Jules Shine Webster.

Also at the preview, Jack Schatzley of Schatzley’s Diamond and Jewelry Design Studio will select a winning design from among submissions to a design competition by local jewelry designers. He will craft the selected design and it will be made available for auction at the March 20 event. He will also craft a second selection from among the submissions which will be chosen by the high bidder at the March 20 event.

Proceeds raised through The Mix Twenty10 support the Arts Commission’s more than 50 year tradition of developing and promoting the arts in the greater Toledo community through programs such as Young Artists at Work, the Parkwood Gallery, Artomatic 419, Meet and Greets and the Congressional Exhibition, all of which benefit our local artists.

Event support is provided by the Ohio Arts Council, Heartland Health Care, ProMedica Health System, Key Bank, Kingston Healthcare, Adrian Acebedo and Barbara Chappell, Hanson, Inc., Medical Mutual, OptiVue, The Andersons, WT05, Toledo.com, Toledo Blade, Clear Channel and other businesses and individuals.
