Arts Commission of Greater Toledo Invited to Air on Craig Fahle Show on WDET’s 101.9
The Arts Commission of Greater Toledo is pleased to announce that two members of its Programs staff, Michelle Carlson, programs coordinator, and Ryan A. Bunch, assistant programs coordinator, have been invited as guests on Thursday, March 4, 2010 airing of The Craig Fahle Show, which airs on WDET 101.9, Detroit’s NPR station, Monday – Thursday, from 10 a.m. to noon, and 7 p.m. – 9 p.m.
Carlson and Bunch will join Space 237’s Event Coordinator Myela Slatterly, and local artist Jules Webster to discuss the state of Toledo’s creative community, arts scene, and the programs and services offered by the Arts Commission of Greater Toledo.
“We’re so thrilled and grateful that The Craig Fahle Show and WDET are interested in the creative happenings in Toledo, and giving us a chance to voice our enthusiasm for what is happening here. We are proud of our programs, and proud of Toledo’s burgeoning arts scene. The opportunity to share that with listeners and creatives in the greater Detroit area is a positive step forward in uniting the unique creativity that is happening in both of these cities,” Michelle Carlson said.
The four guests of the show – Carlson, Bunch, Slatterly, and Webster – were invited by former C-Pop Gallery owner, one of Detroit’s premier art galleries, Rick Manore, who said he was interested and impressed with Toledo’s progress in uniting its creatives and creating a coherent arts scene. Manore wanted to share that story with Detroiters, and begin a dialogue that might lead to artistic exchanges between the two cities.
The Toledo arts edition of the Craig Fahle Show will air live at 10 a.m. on WDET 101.9, from Detroit’s Wayne State University campus. The show will re-run at 7 p.m., and be available later in the day in an MP3 format via www.wdetfm.org/craigfahle.
The Arts Commission of Greater Toledo is the longest standing arts commission in the state of Ohio that develops and promotes the arts in the community, serving Northwest Ohio since 1959. www.acgt.org. 419-254-ARTS
