Black & White Transportation offers iPhone app to help St. Pat's Day revelers
get home safely
Come March 17, that will be the word of the day, as people tip their glasses
and toast "cheers" to St. Patrick. After a day of fun, friends and frivolity
(and maybe a green beer or two), you can't rely on luck to get you home
safely – but you can can count on B4UDRIVE.
Created by Black & White Transportation, the free B4UDRIVE application for
iPhones calculates your blood alcohol content (BAC) by taking into account
your gender, your weight, the number of drinks you've had and what you've
been drinking based on the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration
(NHTSA) standards. If the results reveal that you're best leaving the driving
to someone else, touching an icon on the screen will identify if you're within
the Black & White Transportation service area and connect you directly to its
24-hour dispatch center (if you are not within the service area, the number
for the nearest cab company will be provided). More than 650 people have
uploaded the application since its release in January.
Once connected, you can opt to have one of Black & White's
expertly trained, certified drivers take you home. Concerned about leaving
your vehicle? Just specify Black & White Home, and two drivers will be
dispatched – one to drive you and your car, the other to return the driver to
his cab.
"Getting behind the wheel after one too many can turn a good time into a
nightmare in a matter of seconds," said Scott Potter, Black & White
Transportation owner. "A DUI can not only ruin your driving record and your
reputation, but can lead to thousands of dollars in fines and court costs – not
to mention the risk to yourself and others. When you're having a good time,
it can be very easy to over-celebrate. But, you still have to make the right
choices, and the B4UDRIVE app can help with that."
It's not only convenient, it's also smart. The State of Ohio reports that over
the last five years, more than 850 people have been killed in alcohol-related
accidents over the St. Patrick's Day holiday. And given that law enforcement
agencies more than double their on-street patrols during this time, taking
chances is definitely not a viable option.

reservation system, at http://www.bwcab.com, is accessible from any Web-
enabled phone.
"Our job is to keep you safe," Potter continued. "All of our drivers are
required to undergo an extensive background check and be certified in our
training programs. We call it dignified transportation with the highest level
of service."
And as luck would have it, it's a service will get you home safe and
sound.
