FREE “2010 SHOWCASE SYLVANIA” EXPO – March 27th
The Sylvania Chamber of Commerce annual FREE “Showcase Sylvania” Business Expo is on March 27, 2010 from 9:00 AM until 3:00 PM at the Sylvania Sports and Exhibition Center at Tam-O-Shanter, 7060 Sylvania Avenue, Sylvania, Ohio. The expo is a massive event that last year had an attendance of over 4,000 and features representation from 140 area businesses
The show will highlight businesses that reflect the area’s private and professional business diversity. Visitors can view exciting, interactive displays of area businesses that show off local products and services in a family friendly event. The children’s area is sponsored by the Sylvania Franciscan Academy and Over the Rainbow Early Learning Center and there are many art and fun activities for the youngsters. Entertainment from local schools, music and dance academies is featured and most businesses will be providing giveaways and door prizes
A favorite part of the expo is the Taste of Sylvania. Local supermarkets, specialty foods and coffee shops will be offering fresh ideas for entertaining, dinner and healthy alternative meals and Paramount will have on-site health screenings and Franklin Park Vision will be having free glass adjustments. Several of the businesses will hold mini-demonstrations.
This year the Sylvania Community Arts Commission Student Artfest 2010 will again be held at the Senior Center in partnership with the Expo. ArtFest 2010 features artwork of Sylvania area students from grade school to high school.
The community can view an “Energy Fair” area offering businesses and consumers an opportunity to learn what is new in energy efficiency. Products and services that reduce utility costs and offer low cost solutions will be highlighted.
Free parking for the expo is on-site at Tam-O-Shanter or off-site at Olander Park and Southview High.
The Sylvania Area Chamber of Commerce also hosts a business to business preview party the evening before, on March 26. Several hundred guests come together to network and explore business opportunities. Additionally the Chamber announced their 2010 Chamber Champion’s. Several nominees from the business and non-profit sector will be honored for their business acumen and philanthropy. The award, a one-of-a-kind art piece, is designed by Homer Yarrito, specifically for the Chamber.
The Sylvania Area Chamber of Commerce produces Showcase Sylvania Expo in cooperation with Central Park West Event Facility, Metamora State Bank, The Toledo Blade, The Flower Hospital, Paramount Health Care, Lourdes College and Tam-O-Shanter.
