Family Bird Festival for International Migratory Bird Day

Special Event at Ottawa National Wildlife Refuge

Ottawa National Wildlife Refuge is celebrating the Biggest Week in America Birding (www.biggestweekinamericabirding.com) with daily events May 6th through May 16th 2010.

To focus on families the Refuge and volunteers are holding a day of special activities on May 8th. Starting at 11:00 a.m. and ending at 4:00 p.m., families are invited to visit the Bird Café, join in a bird scavenger hunt, go on guided bird walks, and join in songs, reading and crafts about birds. You may even meet a special guest – Puddles the Blue Goose!

Many more activities are being offered that day including badge activities for Scouts and Family and Guided Beginning Bird Walk in Spanish. Check the website http://www.fws.gov/midwest/ottawa/ for a complete list.
